The local Twinning Association was formed in 1979, so the year 2009 was our 30th Anniversary. In keeping with previous major anniversaries, there has been a large exchange to celebrate this event, in which we endeavoured to involve all the community.
Over the weekend of 30th May to 1st June 2009 we recieved some 85 French visitors and a three German visitors.
We will be visiting Bellême in 2010 to celebrate the anniversary there.
There is now a new Anniversary Website covering all the action of the weekend. The previous pages in this section have now been removed and are replaced by pages on the new site.
There was a short news item on BBC South.
Our visitors stayed with a host families and there was a full programme of events organised for them.
There are many other smaller exchanges which occur throughout the year. So if you missed out on this occasion, please still register your interest.
